Kyu testing is an opportunity for Shotokan students to advance through the eight kyu steps of white and brown belts. Foothill Shotokan hosted the Fall Kyu Test on Saturday, November 12, 2016. Alta, Auburn, Carson City, Sacramento, Redding and Tahoe dojos attended, with a total of 41 participants. Following a practice session at 10am, 22 members tested for advancement. Testing took most of the day. Foothill dojo congratulates their two students who successfully advanced; Mark to level 2 (nikyu) and Dan to level 4 (shikyu).
